Brent Stone Struck and Killed By Hit-And-Run 18-Wheeler Driver in Sadler

Sadler, Texas (February 8, 2018) – A 45-year-old Savoy City Councilman was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver early Wednesday morning in Sadler, according to Texas Department of Public Safety.
The accident took place on Wednesday, February 7, on an overpass in the Sadler area.
Authorities said Brent Stone, popularly known as Mike, of Fannin County, was driving to work in Whitesboro when he lost control of his pickup truck after hitting a patch of ice, and crashed along the roadway.
After the crash, Stone reportedly got out of his vehicle when an 18-wheeler driver failed to see him and hit him.
Authorities said Stone was declared dead at the scene while the driver failed to stop to render help.
An icy overpass played contributed to the wreckage, authorities said.
Authorities are continuing an investigation into the accident.

We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
