Female Pedestrian Killed in Wirt Road Crash near Kilborn

Houston, Texas (October 4, 2017) – A woman was fatally struck on Tuesday night in northwest Houston, according to a Houston Police Department report.
The deadly collision took place at about 8:55 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, at 2200 Wirt Road near Kilborn.
According to authorities, a 53-year-old woman was hit by a northbound gray Ford Freestar van while pushing a grocery shopping cart from Fiesta store across Wirt road.
The victim had dark clothing and reportedly crossed the street outside a crosswalk.
The pedestrian was critically injured and was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was declared dead.
The driver remained at the scene and rendered aid to the victim.
According to the police, no charges have been issued in the crash.
No further details on the identity of the victim were immediately made available.
