Robert Pitts ID’d as Man Killed in Abilene Pedestrian Crash on I-20 near SH 351

Abilene, Texas (December 1, 2018) – The authorities have identified the man who was hit and killed by a vehicle in Abilene on Thursday night.
Robert Eugene Pitts, 39, of Panama City, Florida, died in the crash that happened at around 9:15 p.m. November 30 on I-20 near SH 351.
Police said Pitts was walking on the side of westbound I-20 when he stepped into the roadway and was hit by a tractor-trailer.
Pitts died at the scene of the crash.
Police said alcohol and drugs were unlikely factors in the accident.
The incident is under investigation.
