Nefthali Cortes-Rojas ID’d as Man Killed in Salado Big Rig Crash on FM 2843 near Hidden Springs Drive
Salado, Texas (August 29, 2018) – The man who was killed in a traffic accident Tuesday morning in Salado has been identified as Nefthali Cortes-Rojas, 44, of Florence, according to the Department of Public Safety.
The deadly accident occurred at about 8:15 a.m. August 28, on FM 2843, just west of Hidden Springs Drive.
Reportedly, Cortes-Rojas was driving a 2005 Kia sedan eastbound on FM 2843 when his car rear-ended an 18-wheeler which was trying to make a U-turn and got stuck blocking the roadway.
Cortes-Rojas was declared dead at the scene.
The big rig driver, 54-year-old Patrick Shavers, of Dallas, was uninjured in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
