Teen Killed, Karli Mears, Carley Buckley and 1 Injured in Tyler County Car Accident on FM 1013 near Spurger
Tyler County, Texas (September 29, 2018) – A teenager was killed and three other people were injured Wednesday afternoon in a traffic accident in Tyler County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety(DPS).
As per the DPS officials, the deadly accident took place at about 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 26 on FM 1013, just east Spurger.
According to the DPS officials, Carley Buckley, 25, was driving a Pontiac eastbound on FM 1013 when for an unknown reason the Pontiac crossed over the center divider and into the path of an oncoming Ford Mustang. The two vehicles then collided head-on.
A 16-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the Pontiac, died at the scene. Her name has not been released pending identification and notification of next of kin.
Buckley, her passenger and the Ford Mustang driver, Karli Mears, all sustained serious injuries and were transported to a hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
