Joseph Gomez Killed in El Paso Car Crash at Pebble Hills and Red Sails; Erick Angel Ortiz Arrested
El Paso, Texas (September 24, 2019) – A man was killed in a suspected DUI crash Sunday night at an El Paso intersection, according to the police.
The fatal crash happened at about 7:51 p.m. September 22, in the area of Pebble Hills and Red Sails.
Police said Erick Angel Ortiz, 25, was driving when he ran a red light at the intersection and T-boned a car driven by Joseph Gomez, 30.
Both Ortiz and Gomez were taken to the hospital where Gomez later died.
Ortiz is facing a charge of intoxication manslaughter, with a $100,000 bond.
The El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigations Unit is conducting the investigation.
