Jose Melchor Hospitalized after Odessa Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-20 near South Crane Avenue
Odessa, Texas (September 19, 2018) – A driver was injured Tuesday morning in a four-vehicle crash in Odessa, according to the Odessa Police Department.
The crash was reported at about 7:00 a.m. September 18, on Interstate 20, just west of South Crane Avenue.
A preliminary report indicated that Tinh Chua Nguyen, 39, of California, was driving a semi-truck when he failed to control his speed and rear-ended a Ford F-150 and a Ford Mustang, pushing it into another semi-truck.
The Mustang driver, Jose Melchor, 18, was able to free himself from the wreckage and was transported to Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Nguyen was charged with Failure to Control Speed.
Authorities closed both eastbound lanes as they worked on the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
