The 58-year-old Woodville man driving the truck tractor’s driver was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment
Beech Grove, TX. – 35-year-old Johnathan Smith was killed in a head-on collision on Friday in Beech Grove.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 3:30 a.m. on US Highway 190, between County Road 156 and the Dam B bridge, near Martin Dies State Park.
The man was driving a Ram pickup truck the westbound in the eastbound lane when he collided head-on with a tanker truck.
The truck tractor caught fire on impact.
Smith, a resident of Woodville, was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital and then transferred to St. Elizabeth Hospital where he later died.

More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
