Ivan Dominguez-Jaimes and Kewalkumar Vyas ID’d as People Killed in Odessa Car Crash on Interstate 20 near Loop 338

Odessa, Texas (July 20, 2018) – The two people who were killed Wednesday morning in a traffic accident in Odessa have been identified as Ivan Dominguez-Jaimes and Kewalkumar Vyas, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The crash was reported at about 9:49 a.m. July 18, on Interstate 20 near Loop 338.
Troopers said Sammie Whittington was driving westbound on Interstate 20 in a Dodge Ram 3500. He failed to control his speed causing him to collide with a Nissan Sentra driven by Dominguez-Jaimes.
The force of the impact caused the Sentra to collide with a Ford F550 pickup truck which then collided with another Ford pickup.
Officials said Dominguez-Jaimes and Vyas, who was a passenger in the Sentra, were both killed in the crash.
Whittington sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was rushed to Medical Center Hospital.
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
Troopers are investigating the crash.
