Fernando Peralta-Berrios Arrested in Fatal North Richland Hills Pedestrian Accident on Texas 183/Airport Freeway near Northeast Loop 820
North Richland Hills, Texas – A man has been arrested in connection to the hit-and-run accident that left a teenager dead last month in North Richland Hills, according to the North Richland Hills Police Department.
Fernando Peralta-Berrios, 32, was arrested and charged with intoxication, manslaughter, and collision involving personal injury or death.
The deadly accident happened around 8:47 p.m., May 16, in the 8600 block of eastbound Texas 183/Airport Freeway, near the Northeast Loop 820 split.
Police said 16-year-old Luis Luna of Irving, was struck by a vehicle on the freeway. The vehicle fled the scene after the accident.
Luna was taken to Cook Children’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver, Peralta-Berrios, was arrested on Monday, June 3, and booked at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center. His bond was set at $500K.
The police are investigating the crash.
