Woman Killed in Crash with Wrecker on Katy Freeway in Houston

Houston, Texas (May 15, 2018) – A woman was killed when her vehicle was struck by a wrecker on Tuesday morning in Houston, according to a police report.
The fatal crash took place on the Katy Freeway near Highway 6 at around 9:45 a.m.
Police said a 68-year-old woman was driving a red Ford Escape on the freeway when she was rear-ended by a heavy-duty wrecker truck.
The impact caused the Ford to lose control and ended up colliding with another car.
The driver of the Ford was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
Police said the driver of the wrecker had been distracted when he looked away just before the crash.
The wreck is under investigation.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
