Texarkana, Texas (August 30, 2018) – The teenager who was killed Wednesday evening in a three-car collision in Texarkana has been identified as Virginia Comer, 17, of Nash Texas, police said.
The fatal crash took place shortly after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 29 on Interstate 369/Jarvis Parkway, just north of Westlawn Dr.
According to authorities, Jacob Baker, 30, of Ashdown Arkansas, was heading southbound on Interstate 369 when his 2016 Dodge Ram pickup truck hydroplaned, crossed the median and collided head-on with a northbound 2011 Hyundai Sonata, operated by Russell Comer, 47, of Nash.
The impact caused the Hyundai to spin around and struck a northbound 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Symone Tucker, 29, of Texarkana Texas.
Virginia, who was a passenger in the back seat of the Sonata, died at the scene.  Her parents, Russell and his wife, Tonya Comer, 43, were taken to Christus St. Michael with serious injuries.
Both Baker and Tucker were transported to Christus St. Michael with non-life threatening injuries.
An investigation into the cash is ongoing.
