New Braunfels, TX – A bicyclist was hit and killed by a train Thursday night in New Braunfels, according to officials.

The deadly accident happened at about 10:45 p.m. on February 24 in the 200 block of North Solms Road near Interstate 35.

Officials said 49-year-old Ryan Furnas, from San Antonio, was riding his bike on the railroad tracks when he was struck by a train.

Furnas was pronounced dead at the scene.

No additional details were provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
