Midland, TX – A man was killed Tuesday evening in a hit-and-run accident in Midland, according to the police.
The deadly accident happened around 6:58 p.m. on February 10 at the intersection of Midland Drive and Dengar Avenue.
Police said 67-year-old Liborio Garcia of Midland was crossing the street when he was struck by a Ford Escape.
Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Escape driver, Jordan McLaughlin, fled the scene after the accident. He was later found at a nearby apartment, and he admitted to driving the vehicle and leaving the scene without rendering aid. He was arrested and booked into the Midland County Detention Center on a charge of collision involving death.
The police are investigating the accident.
