Patrick McPhaul Killed in Three-Vehicle Collision on I-10 in San Antonio
San Antonio, TX – The man who was killed Thursday morning in a three-vehicle collision in Northwest San Antonio has been identified as Patrick C. McPhaul, 42, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
The fatal collision occurred around 10:21 a.m. on February 26 on Interstate 10 near the Camp Bullis Road exit and The Rim shopping district.
Police said McPhaul was involved in a minor collision, and he briefly stepped outside of his vehicle to speak with the other driver. As he returned to his vehicle, a Chevy work truck crashed into him from behind and then struck him a second time after it crashed into a concrete barrier.
McPhaul was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
The collision closed the westbound lanes of the interstate for several hours.
The police are investigating the accident.

The fatal collision occurred on February 26 in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 between Camp Bullis Road and Boerne Stage Road.
Police said two trucks collided, and as they were trying to get off the interstate, a third truck crashed into them.
A man was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released.
Several other passengers in the trucks were also taken to the hospital for treatment.
The collision closed the interstate for at least an hour.
The police are investigating the accident.
