San Diego, Texas (May 5, 2018) – The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the woman killed in a fatal two-vehicle accident on Friday evening near San Diego.
Nora Lisa Uvalle, 36, of Corpus Christi, died in the incident that took place on State Highway 44, approximately 8 miles west of San Diego shortly after 4 p.m. on Friday, May 4.
DPS said a 1996 Chevrolet flatbed pickup truck was heading west on SH 44 when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with an oncoming 2014 Nissan Altima.
The report stated that the driver of the Nissan had made an attempt to avoid the pickup truck but was unsuccessful, and the vehicles crashed.
Uvalle was a passenger in the Nissan and was killed in the crash.
The firefighters extricated both drivers and one passenger in the pickup truck. The three were transported to Christus Spohn Hospital in Alice with unknown injuries.
Police said heavy rain might have contributed to the accident.
The crash is under investigation.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
