METRO Officer Elias Sonny Martinez Fatally Injured after Crash Gulf Freeway

Houston, Texas (September 19, 2017) – A METRO officer, who was a 25-year-veteran assigned to METRO’s motor unit died ten days after he suffered injuries in a crash on the Gulf Freeway.
The crash occurred on Thursday, September 7, on the Gulf Freeway near FM 646
According to a report, Officer Elias Sonny Martinez sustained injuries in an accident ten days ago. The crash took place when Martinez was off-duty and was escorting an oversize load on the freeway near FM 646.
