Danny Hankins Fatal Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Accident at Palmera Ridge and Ronald Reagan Boulevard in Leander
Leander, Texas (September 24, 2018) – A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash Saturday night in Leander, according to a local news source.
The accident was reported shortly before 12:00 a.m. September 22, at the intersection of Palmera Ridge and Ronald Reagan Boulevard between Ranch Road 2243 and the San Gabriel River.
The crash involved a motorcycle and a pickup truck.
According to a witness, the pickup truck driver made a turn from Palmera Ridge into the path of a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle, which was traveling southbound on Ronald Reagan.
The motorcyclist, Danny Roy Hankins, 34, was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
A witness said the driver stopped but then fled the scene.
The truck was described as a white or light-colored GMC or Chevrolet pickup truck with a toolbox in the back and a work rack that has a frame for carrying construction equipment.
The truck acquired possible damage on its bumper and tail lamp.
