3 Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash at Frank Avenue and Loop in Lufkin

Lufkin, Texas (May 6, 2018) – Three people were hospitalized Saturday afternoon after a three-car accident in Lufkin, according to a Lufkin Police Department report.
The crash occurred on Saturday, May 5 at the light on Frank Avenue and the loop.
According to the LPD report, a Chevrolet HHR and pickup truck were heading inwards from Frank Avenue when they were stopped for a red light in the left turn lane to go northbound on the loop.
A Chevrolet pickup truck, operated by 17-year-old Justin Humphries from Lufkin, struck the middle car, pushing it into the first.
Police said three occupants of the HHR; one juvenile and two adults, including one who was pregnant, were all taken to CHI. They are still in critical condition but stable.
No one in the pickup in front was hurt.
Humphries was cited for failure to control speed.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
