2 Injured in 3-Vehicle Crash on Sam Rayburn Tollway near Carrolton
Carrolton, Texas (February 9, 2018) – Two people were seriously hurt in a Friday morning chain-reaction collision involving three vehicles near Carrolton.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred at around 3:10 a.m. on the Sam Rayburn Tollway near Huffines Boulevard.
DPS said a BMW traveling northbound on the tollway rear-ended a box truck.
The BMW then collided with an 18-wheeler that was pulling a tanker with gas and diesel fuel.
The impact caused the tanker to be detached from the 18-wheeler and overturned onto the median.
The drivers of the BMW and the 18-wheeler were taken to Medical City Plano with serious injuries.
The driver of the box truck was unhurt.
The accident led to the closure of the northbound and southbound lanes of the tollway through the morning as the HazMat situation was contained.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes. No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies. While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
