Truck Driver Killed in Crash after Exiting the Beltway 8 and Hits another Vehicle Injuring Two People

Houston, Texas (August 21, 2017) – One person was killed and two others injured on Saturday night in a major crash on Eastex Freeway, according to a police report.
Investigators said that the fatal accident happened at around 10 p.m. on US-59 North the Beltway 8, Saturday, August 19.
The pickup truck driver, driving northbound on US-59 at the Beltway 8 exit ramp, made a last minute decision to exit the Eastex Freeway. The truck slammed into safety barrels whose cables ripped the truck’s roof and made it fly in the air hitting another truck before flipping onto the exit ramp.
The pickup driver died from the injuries while two people in the other truck sustained minor injuries. The identity of the victim was not available.
Investigators are looking into the accident.
