Josephine Izundu Killed in Crash with 18-Wheeler on Loop 288 in Denton
Denton, TX – The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the woman who died Tuesday morning in a crash involving a car and an 18-wheeler on Loop 288 as Josephine Izundu, 52, of Lewisville.
The deadly crash happened at about 10:15 a.m. on Loop 288 near Sherman Drive.
Denton Police said initial investigation showed that Izundu’s vehicle was stopped in the right southbound lane just past the Sherman Drive exit on the North Loop. A vehicle swerved to avoid hitting the stopped vehicle. However, an 18-wheeler crashed into Izundu’s car.
Izundu was rushed to a hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Authorities say it was not immediately clear why the Izundu’s vehicle was stopped in the roadway.
The incident remains under investigation.

Denton, TX – A woman is dead following a traffic collision involving a car and an 18-wheeler in Denton Tuesday morning, according to Denton Police.
The accident happened at about 10:15 a.m. on Loop 288 near Sherman Drive.
According to the police, medics responded to the scene and transported an injured woman to the hospital.
Unfortunately, the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The deceased woman was the only person injured in the incident.
A section of Loop 288 was shut down as officers investigated the crash scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
