Alvaro Alvarado Killed in Rear-End Crash on U.S. Highway 285 in Reeves County

Reeves County, Texas (May 3, 2018) – A driver was killed in a rear-end accident Monday morning in Reeves County, authorities said.
The collision occurred just before 6:30 a.m. Monday, April 30 on U.S. Highway 285, five miles north of Orla, Texas near the Texas-New Mexico state line.
According to Texas DPS, 44-year-old Alvaro Alvarado from Forth Worth, Texas was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on U.S. Highway 285 when he rear-ended an 18-wheeler driven by Genaro Acosta-Castaneda, 60, of El Paso.
Acosta-Castaneda reportedly had slowed near an intersection to turn left when Alvarado failed to control speed.
Alvarado died at the scene.
No other injuries were reported in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
