2 Die and 4 Hurt in South Bexar County Crash at Texas 16 and South Zarzamora Street

Bexar County, Texas (January 7, 2018) – A head-on Collision Saturday evening in South Bexar County claimed lives of two people and injured four others, according to a news release from San Antonio police.
The accident happened on Saturday, January 6, at Texas 16 and South Zarzamora Street.
According to a San Antonio police report, a Dodge Ram truck was driving northbound on Texas 16 when a tire came off the car causing the driver to lose control, swerve into the southbound lanes near the intersection of the Texas and South Zarzamora Street, and crash head-on into a Ford Explorer.
Two people from the Explorer died as a result of the crash, another occupant of the explorer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to University Hospital for treatment, police said.
The driver of the Ram truck was also injured and was transported to University Hospital in critical condition. Two other occupants of the Ram were also hurt in the crash, police said.
According to a report, each vehicle had three occupants.
The identity of the victims was not immediately provided.
