Houston, TX – Houston police are investigating a double fatal wrong-way traffic collision on North Freeway early Thursday morning.
The deadly accident happened at about 2:43 a.m. on southbound Interstate 45 Freeway near White Oak Drive.
Authorities said a vehicle was heading north in the southbound lanes of the freeway when it collided head-on with another vehicle.
Both drivers were killed in the collision. The names of the victims were not immediately released.
Police say all North Freeway lanes are closed and drivers should expect significant delays in the area.
The accident remains under investigation.
