1 Dead and 1 Hurt in San Antonio Car Crash on Poteet Jourdanton Freeway Friday morning
San Antonio, Texas (September 29, 2018) – A woman in her 20s was killed and another person was injured in a head-on collision in San Antonio Friday morning, according to police.
The tragic accident happened just before 7:00 a.m. Friday, September 28 in the 8900 block of Poteet Jourdanton Freeway.
Police said the woman was driving southbound on Poteet Jourdanton Freeway when for unknown reasons she crossed over the centre line and her vehicle collided head-on with a green SUV.
The woman’s vehicle then landed on top of a white pickup truck.
The woman was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. Her name has not been released pending identification and notification of family.
The green SUV driver was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center. The pickup truck driver was not injured.
Both northbound and southbound lanes of Poteet Jourdanton Freeway were blocked between Patron Drive and Gillette Boulevard.
The road was expected to be shut down for a few hours while authorities investigated the cause of the crash.
