Woman Killed in Harris County Pedestrian Accident on Red Oak Drive

Harris County, Texas (October 31, 2018) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a METRO Houston bus on Wednesday in north Harris county, according to the deputies.
The crash happened at about 7:05 a.m. in the 800 block of Peakwood Drive near Red Oak Drive in the Westfield area.
Deputies said a METRO bus had stopped for passengers to alight and others to board when a woman stepped out and was hit by another bus that was turning onto Peakwood Drive from Red Oak Drive. The woman was trying to cross the street when she was hit.
The woman died at the scene. Her identity was not immediately released.
The authorities are investigating the crash.
