Midland Man Wendell Mitchell Killed in Odessa Crash with 18-Wheeler on Northeast Loop 338

Odessa, Texas (May 31, 2018) – A Midland man was killed in a deadly crash involving an 18-wheeler on Wednesday morning in Odessa.
According to the Odessa Police Department, the wreck occurred at around 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, in the 3400 block of Northeast Loop 338 and Mecca.
Police said Wendell Mitchell, 37, of Midland, was driving a white Volkswagen Beetle northbound on Northeast Loop 338 when he crashed into the rear of a white Kenworth truck tractor-trailer that was stopped for traffic.
Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
Police are investigating the deadly wreck.
