Tyrus Piano Dies in San Marcos Pedestrian Accident near Riverside and IH 35 Access Road

New Braunfels, Texas (June 16, 2018) – A 48-year-old man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Friday night in San Marcos according to the authorities.
The crash occurred at around 7:15 p.m. June 15, near the intersection of Riverside and the IH 35 access road.
Police said a 1998 Toyota van jumped the curb and struck the victim, identified as Tyrus Dennis Piano, 48, of Kyle.
Piano was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the van fled the scene but ended up crashing into a tree and was taken into custody.
San Marcos police said the driver is expected to face DUI and manslaughter charges.
