Tabbatha Collier and Justin Collier Killed, 2 Injured in 2-Car Crash in Hopkins County

Hopkins County, Texas (May 23, 2018) – A local school teacher and her husband were killed in a two-car collision in Hopkins County Saturday morning.
Texas Department of Public Safety officials said the collision happened at about 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19 on State Highway 11 in Como.
Tabbatha Collier, 34, her husband Justin Collier, 35, of Alba and their two children were heading westbound on the highway in a 2005 Chevrolet Colorado when their vehicle failed to yield the right of way and pulled in front of an eastbound Ford F150 pickup pulling a trailer. The pickup then crashed into the Chevrolet Colorado.
Tabbatha and Justin died in the crash while their son Jareth, 6, was treated and released and their daughter Jaycee, 3, was hurt and remained in the hospital as of Monday morning.
The pickup driver was not injured.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
