Shaunna Wood ID’d as Woman Killed in Jefferson County Car Crash on U.S. Highway 90 near Beaumont
Jefferson County, Texas (August 21, 2018) – The woman who was killed Saturday night in a wrong-way crash in Jefferson County has been identified as Shaunna Ruth Wood, 38, according to Texas Department of Public Safety.
The deadly collision took place at around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, August 18 on U.S Highway 90, just west of Beaumont.
As per the DPS report, Wood was allegedly driving a Kia passenger vehicle in the wrong direction on eastbound U.S Highway 90 when her vehicle collided head-on with another Kia driven by Jack Thode, 21.
Wood died at the scene. Thode was transported to St. Elizabeth with critical injuries while his passenger, a 21-year-old woman, was also taken to St. Elizabeth with unspecified injuries.
No other details regarding the crash were immediately provided.
The crash remains under investigation.
