Shannon Harrington Killed in Orange County Bicycle Accident on FM 105 near West Circle Road
Orange County, Texas (December 13, 2018) – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday night in Orange County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers.
The fatal accident was reported at about 7:00 p.m. December 12, on FM 105, near West Circle Road.
According to a preliminary report, a 2008 Ford pickup truck driven by Kevin Lightfoot, 18, of Silsbee was heading southbound on FM 105 while a bicycle ridden by Shannon Harrington, 31, of Vidor, was heading northbound on the southbound shoulder of FM 105.
Lightfoot traveled off the main traveled portion of the roadway for unknown reasons and hit the bicyclist.
Harrington died at the scene.
Lightfoot was uninjured in the crash.
No other details were immediately provided.
The troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
