Lubbock, TX. – A man was killed in a car crash in Lubbock early Tuesday morning.

According to local police, the accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on State Highway 349 at CR 4800.

A Cadillac SRX was southbound on SH 349 when it veered onto the rumble strips and the driver over-corrected into the northbound lanes, colliding head-on with an oncoming Mercedes.

The driver of the Mercedes, 46-year-old Samuel Lookadoo, of Lubbock, died at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the Cadillac, 21-year-old Francisco Alex Ramos Valasquez, of Lubbock, was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital and treated for minor injuries.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
