Mayor Robert Elkins, Wife Von Elkins Killed in Tuscola Car Crash on Highway 83

Tuscola, Texas (December 14, 2018) – A fiery two-vehicle collision left a mayor and his wife dead on Thursday afternoon near Tuscola City, according to the DPS.
The wreck happened at about 12:50 p.m. Thursday, December 13 on U.S. Highway 83 at County Road 131.
DPS said a Chevrolet pickup truck traveling northbound on the highway swerved into the southbound side and collided with a black SUV.
Two people were killed in the crash. They were identified as Mayor Robert Elkins and his wife Von Dean Elkins.
It’s unclear whether there were other injuries in the crash.
The DPS is conducting an investigation into the incident.
