1 Killed, 3 Seriously Injured in Rhome Plane Crash at Rhome Meadows Airport
Rhome, Texas (August 17, 2018) – A pilot was killed and his three passengers, two children included, were injured Thursday evening after a plane they were flying in crashed on takeoff at an airfield in North Texas.
The crash occurred at about 7:30 p.m. August 16, on Rhome Meadows Airport.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Cessna 172 aircraft crashed on takeoff.
The pilot was killed in the crash. A man and a child, who were passengers in the plane, sustained severe injuries and were airlifted to Fort Worth hospitals. A third passenger, a child, was taken by an ambulance to a Fort Worth hospital.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.
