Pete Morales Dies in Victoria Pedestrian Crash on US 87

Victoria, Texas (November 7, 2018) – A man was struck and killed by a vehicle while inspection his vehicle on Tuesday morning in Victoria, according to the DPS.
The fatal crash happened on U.S. 87 near Guadalupe Road on Tuesday, November 6.
DPS said Pete Morales, 92, of Victoria, was driving a 2016 Honda Accord on the highway when the vehicle collided with a 2010 Kia Soul driven by Benjamin Rai Deleon, 21, also of Victoria. As Morales went out to check on the Honda, a Jeep Cherokee slammed into the disabled vehicle, which then hit him.
Morales was killed in the crash. His wife suffered minor injuries from the initial crash.
No other injuries were reported from the crash.
The accident is under investigation.
