San Antonio, TX – The woman who was hit and killed by a vehicle early Sunday morning in San Antonio has been identified as Perla Grimaldo, 39, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The deadly accident happened around 3:30 a.m. on February 14 in the 11000 block of I-10 westbound.
Police said Grimaldo was involved in a multi-vehicle collision. She fled the scene with another person by jumping over a median and ran into oncoming traffic, where she was struck by a vehicle.
Grimaldo was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.
The driver who hit Grimaldo stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. That driver was not intoxicated at the time of the accident.
The police are investigating the accident.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened in the 11000 block of I-10 West at around 3:30 a.m.
The woman and another person jumped over the median and ran into oncoming traffic and were struck while crossing.
The two were allegedly involved in an earlier crash and were fleeing the scene.
The woman was transported to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Police do not suspect impairment as a factor in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
