Man Injured in Nederland Pedestrian Accident at TX-347 and First Avenue
Nederland, Texas (July 6, 2018) – A 41-year-old man was struck and injured by a vehicle Wednesday morning in Nederland, according to a local news source.
The crash took place at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 4 at the intersection of TX-347 and First Avenue.
As per the reports, the man was walking along the shoulder of TX-347 when an approaching pickup operated by Christopher Abeyta, 34, allegedly drifted into the shoulder to turn right onto First Avenue.
The vehicle then struck the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was taken by EMS to St. Elizabeth with non-life-threatening injuries.
Abeyta was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
No other details were immediately provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
