McLennan County, Texas (January 29, 2018) – The woman who was killed in a two-vehicle collision in the border of McLennan County and Hill County Saturday night has been identified as Patsy Barnes, 60 of Dale, according to Texas Department of Public Safety.
The accident took place at around 6:50 p.m. Saturday, January 27, on FM 2114, a half mile west of the city of West.
According to a preliminary investigation, A 2012 Ford Mustang, driven by  46-year-old Amanda Bradford of Kennedale, was headed east behind the 2000 Ford Ranger pickup driven by Stephen Weinberger, 56, of West when the Mustang hit the rear of the Ranger, forcing the truck off the road and causing a rollover.
Barnes was a passenger in the Mustang and was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace.
DPS said Bradford and her passenger, 48-year-old Tony Looper of White Settlement, fled the accident scene on foot but were later located and taken into custody.
Looper was taken to Hill Regional Hospital for minor injuries. Weinberger was also transported to Baylor Scott and White – Hillcrest for incapacitating injuries.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
