Oziel Martinez, Juan Edgardo Moncada Killed in Car Accident at U.S. 83 and Texas 255 in Laredo

Oziel Martinez and Juan Edgardo Moncada ID’d as Men Killed in Laredo Crash at U.S. 83 and Texas 255

Laredo, Texas (July 10, 2019) – Oziel Martinez, 25, and Juan Edgardo Moncada, 56, both of Laredo, have been identified as the two men who were killed last week in a traffic accident at a Laredo intersection.

The deadly accident took place at around 7:20 a.m. Friday, July 5 at the intersection of U.S. 83 and Texas 255.

Police said Martinez was driving a 2007 Kenworth hauling a 2006 Drag Master trailer westbound on Texas 255 when he took the exit toward North U.S. 83.

Martinez failed to yield the right of way and hit a northbound 2007 Cub Cadet truck tractor pulling a 2009 utility trailer heading northbound on U.S. 83.

The force of the impact caused both vehicles to flip over and Martinez was ejected. The Cub Cadet truck tractor burst into flames after the impact.

Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene. Moncada, who was the driver of the Cub Cadet truck tractor, also died at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
