80-Year-Old Oscar Gonzalez Killed in El Paso Pedestrian Accident on Socorro Road, October 15
El Paso, Texas (October 18, 2018) – A hit-and-run driver left an elderly pedestrian dead on Monday evening in El Paso, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. Monday, October 15 in the 12100 block of Socorro Road.
Deputies said the victim, Oscar Valverde Gonzalez, 80, was rushed to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle that struck Gonzalez fled the scene after the incident but was later located and arrested.
The deputies said charges are pending an ongoing investigation.
