Orange Teen Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident on FM 1013 in Tyler County
Tyler County, Texas (September 27, 2018) – A teenager was killed while two other people were injured when two vehicles collided on Wednesday afternoon near Spurger in Tyler County.
According to a report by the DPS, the incident happened at around 2:45 p.m. September 26 on FM 1013.
DPS said a 25-year-old Fred woman was driving a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix eastbound on FM 1013 when, for unknown reasons, she crossed the centerline and collided with an oncoming 2015 Ford Mustang head-on.
The Mustang was being driven by a 22-year-old Porter woman.
A 16-year-old Orange girl who was a passenger in the Pontiac was ejected by the impact. The girl was transported to a Tyler County hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
Both drivers and a 16-year-old girl, who was also a passenger in the Pontiac, were seriously hurt.
The DPS said the roadway was wet due to rains.
The crash is under investigation.
