Nelson Wade Killed in Crash with Stalled Tow Truck on Katy Freeway in Harris County

Harris County, Texas (May 22, 2018) – A man was killed in a crash involving a stalled tow truck on Tuesday morning in Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash happened at about 3:35 a.m. on the Katy Freeway service road near Highway 6.
Deputies said Nelson Wade was driving a Lexus sedan westbound on the Katy Freeway when he slammed into the rear of a flatbed semi-trailer that was stationary in the left lane.
Wade was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
No other injuries were reported.
The driver of the stopped vehicle reportedly told deputies that he ran out of gas and had turned the emergency lights on and had also set out reflective triangles.
The accident remains under investigation.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
