Melissa Riley Seriously Injured in Kilgore Bicycle Crash on U.S. Highway 259 N Business
Kilgore, Texas (December 21, 2018) – A bicyclist was seriously injured Wednesday evening in a traffic accident in Kilgore, police said.
The major crash occurred just after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 19 in the 400 block of U.S. Highway 259 N Business.
A witness told police that the bicyclist, Melissa Riley, 28, of Kilgore, was heading southbound next to a truck tractor and semi-trailer when for an unknown reason she fell from her bicycle and landed underneath the wheels of the trailer.
Another car following behind the truck tractor also ran over the bicyclist.
Riley was rushed to a hospital in Longview with major injuries. She was later transferred to a hospital in Dallas, where she was listed in serious condition.
