Man Injured, John Nissen Arrested after San Antonio Pedestrian Crash on Kenwick Street

San Antonio, Texas (December 1, 2018) – A man was injured and another arrested after a suspected DUI pedestrian crash on Wednesday afternoon in San Antonio, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
The accident occurred at around 1:19 p.m. November 28 in the 5700 block of Kenwick Street.
Police said John Nissen, 68, was driving a GMC truck on Kenwick Street at a high rate of speed when he drifted into the sidewalk and rear-ended an 18-year-old pedestrian. The vehicle carried the pedestrian on the hood for approximately 20 feet before Nissen hit on the bakes and threw the pedestrian onto the ground.
The victim was taken to University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Nissen remained at the scene and was taken into custody on charges of DUI.
