Lynn Williams Killed, 1 Injured in Head-On Collision on Texas 304 in Bastrop

Bastrop, Texas (February 15, 2018) – One of the two people who were transported to hospitals after being involved in a head-on collision on Tuesday afternoon in Bastrop has succumbed to their injuries.
Police said Lynn Fricke Williams died from injuries sustained in the two-vehicle wreck that was reported at around 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, on Texas 304 at Home Depot Way.
According to DPS, a 64-year-old man was attempting to turn north onto Texas 304 from Home Depot Way when he failed to yield and entered into the path of oncoming traffic, causing Williams’ Dodge pickup to strike the man’s vehicle.
Williams was taken to St. David’s Emergency Center in Bastrop with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased at 4:20 p.m.
The other driver was taken to a South Austin Hospital with a serious neck injury.
Police blocked both directions of Texas 304 as they examined and cleared the scene.
The crash is under investigation.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
