Houston, Texas (January 29, 2018) – The Houston Police Department has released the identity of the man killed in a hit-and-run crash that led to the arrest of a suspected DUI driver late Saturday night in Pasadena.
Juan Trejo, 61, died in the accident that occurred shortly before 2 a.m. at the intersection of Allen Genoa Road and West Southmore Avenue.
Police said Trejo was driving a Mitsubishi Mirage when he failed to yield while to making a left turn onto West Southmore Avenue and was struck by a black truck, driven northbound on Allen Genoa Road by a 20-year-old man.
Trejo was killed in the crash.
The second driver reportedly got out of his vehicle after the accident and fled on foot but was chased down and captured by a witness.
According to a preliminary investigation, the suspected drunk-driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when he slammed into Trejo’s car.
The driver was charged with DUI and failure to stop and render aid.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes. No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies. While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
