Jose Arcienega Dead, 1 Hurt in 4-Vehicle Crash in Laredo

Laredo, Texas (May 22, 2018) – One person was killed and another was injured in a four-vehicle collision in South Laredo Monday morning, according to police.
The fatal crash occurred on Monday, May 21 near Cuatro Vientos and Lomas Del Sur.
Police said Jose Gerardo Arcienega, 23, was driving a Silver Dodge Charger when he pulled out in front of a UISD service van at the intersection. The Dodge Charger and the van collided.
According to the police, a passenger in the Dodge Charger was ejected from the vehicle but walked away from the scene.
Arcienega died at the scene.
Moments after the initial crash, a pickup truck slammed into the Charger before it could be removed. A Good Samaritan had stopped to help the victims when another car crashed into the pickup and struck the Good Samaritan.
The woman was transported to the hospital.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
We extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

The information for this blog post was obtained from public media and is for informational purposes.  No attorney-client relationship is established unless the law firm is formally retained. We understand this is a difficult time for the family of those affected by a tragic accident, and we offer our sincere sympathies.  While the thought of hiring a law firm may not feel appropriate at this time, as a public service we like to advise that in some cases it may be important to immediately begin securing evidence (such as photos of skid marks and property damage) and witness statements before it’s too late.
