Police Officer Injured in Houston Car Accident near Gulf Freeway and Fuqua

Houston, Texas (May 20, 2018) – A HPD officer was among two people injured early Sunday morning when a vehicle rear-ended a patrol car in Houston, according to the authorities.
The two-vehicle collision took place at around 3:00 a.m. near the Gulf Freeway and Fuqua.
Authorities said the officer was sitting in a patrol car along the Gulf Freeway with the lights on when a white pickup crashed into his rear.
The officer driving the patrol car was transported to Memorial Hermann with a broken arm. A passenger in the back seat of the patrol vehicle was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the white pickup attempted to flee the scene but was caught and arrested by the police.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
