David Huckabee Dies in Athens Pedestrian Accident on West Tyler Street

Athens, Texas (October 12, 2018) – A man was killed in an auto-pedestrian accident involving a suspected DUI driver on Thursday night in Athens, according to the Athens Police Department.
The crash was reported at around 7:35 p.m. Thursday, October 11 in the 800 block of West Tyler Street.
Police said David Huckabee, 59, of Athens, was trying to cross the street when a westbound 2012 Ford pickup truck struck him.
Huckabee was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the truck, Jared Snyder, 28, was arrested on suspicion of DUI manslaughter.
The crash is under investigation.
